Nanette Medved’s generous donation was made possible through a non-profit organization she founded more than four years ago.
Actress Nanette Medved, a known philanthropist, just turned over eight classrooms to the war-torn city of Marawi.
“So happy to be able to turn over 8 classrooms here in Marawi today. Thank you to the Maranao for your heartwarming hospitality especially given the circumstances,” she wrote, thanking the Maranao people for giving her a warm welcome as she turned over the eight classrooms to them.

Nanette, who is best known for portraying Darna, was praised by a netizen for emulating the iconic Pinay superhero in real life.
"That's what Darna do," the netizen remarked.
Apart from her work at 'Hope,' she has also been part of the Advisory Board of ABS-CBN Foundation's social welfare program Bantay Bata from 2007-2012. Right now, she is a member of the National Advisory Council of World Wildlife Fund Philippines.
