Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach says ‘nerves can happen’ and that seemed to happen to Vickie Rushton too.
Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach took to Instagram to defend Bb. Pilipinas 2019 contestant Vickie Rushton after some netizens harshly commented on her performance during the question and answer portion of the competition.
Vickie, who was one of the crowd favorites, failed to finish her answer when judge Daniel Padilla asked her, "Why is mental health as important as physical health?
“Mental health is as important as physical health, because of our inner being. Having self-love is important. And as a woman, I can inspire and empower the people to take care of themselves, to take care of their mind as well as their health. Because they will be as effective," she answered, which was cut off when time was up.
“My heart also breaks for Vickie. I hope she can try again. I believe this girl is smart. Nerves can happen to even the best of us. It's not easy to compete. Keep your chin up, Vickie," Pia wrote on her Instagram story.
After the pageant last Sunday, June 9, Vickie admitted during an interview that she was disappointed with her own performance and said that she really prepared for this.
