Mickey Ferriols marked a personal milestone on Sunday as she held her first ever solo exhibit.

Held at Secret Fresh Gallery at the Ronact Art Center in San Juan, the seasoned actress debuted 'Introspection', "her first solo exhibition and is her personal tribute to depicting the glory and beauty of God", said Joy Tria Tiron of The Art Report, a website reporting on the local visual art scene in Manila.

Tiron added, "The artworks displayed are visual manifestations of her soul-searching; of finding the beauty and positivity amidst the chaos. She draws inspiration from this biblical passage by St. Paul to the Philippians: 'Whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable–if anything is excellent or praiseworthy–think about such things."

Mickey, whose inspiration for her artwork she draws from the Christian faith, said in a statement that painting serves as her personal "meeting place" with God. “I’d like my works to encourage the viewer to experience the beauty that lies therein. To see the beauty underneath the pain. Painting is like my meeting place with Him where all the noise is drowned out by His peace. It is freedom from the drudgeries of the world.”

A self-taught artist, the 46-year-old star apparently has been into the craft since she was five years old, thanks to her mother who had been very supportive by providing her with art materials, which helped her explore her artistry through time. This didn't falter even as she grew old and became a parent herself and, as everyone knows, a celebrity. Priding herself as a contemporary artist, some of her major inspirations were The Old Masters Caravaggio and Rembrandt, as well as French icon William-Adolphe Bouguereau.
