The vocalist behind the hit "Kahit Ayaw Mo Na" spoke for the first time what she feels about getting compared to the Soul Supreme.
With This Band becoming one of the fastest-rising band in the local music scene today, the OPM group couldn’t be more happy with where their massive hit “Kahit Ayaw Mo Na” has taken them globally in less than a year. That said, nothing is holding them back from releasing more music for their fans.
"Nakakatuwa siyempre kasi talagang ambilis eh. Tsaka siyempre nagulat din kami kasi hindi naman namin 'yun inaasahan. 'Yung dating kanta na gusto lang namin i-upload para kapag magka-anak kami may marinig lang 'yung mga anak namin ngayon naririnig na ng buong mundo. Kaya sobrang nakakatuwa," vocalist Andre Manzano said during the 10th-anniverary event of Ingram Micro Philippines.
"Parang lahat talaga nasasaktan. Nakaka-relate talaga sa kanta,” Manzano added.
Manzano, who has been getting compared to KZ Tandingan for her facial features and style of singing, addressed the comparisons made by fans between her and the latter.
"Actually isa po siya sa influence ko. And kung ma-compare din ako, okay lang kasi idol eh. Parang 'yun 'yung naging inspiration ko na kaya ako kumakanta at nagpapatuloy dahil sa kanya," she said.
Asked if she has already met Tandingan in person, she answered: ”Nakasabay ko po sila sa gig. Si Ate Yeng, si Ate KZ, si Ate Moira.”
Hoping for a collaboration with the Soul Supreme in the future, she stated: ”Sana po. In Jesus' name.”
Meanwhile, Manzano teased that the band is set to release new music this year. ”Album. Wala pa siyang date. To be announced po."
