America's Got Talent contestant Kodi Lee became an overnight sensation online after his impressive performance of Donny Hathaway's "A Song For You" in the auditions. What impressed the online world even more was Kodi's perseverance to be an entertainer despite his condition.

Kodi is blind and autistic. According to his mother Tina Lee, who accompanied him during his performance, music has always been Kodi's sanctuary.

"We found out he loved music early on. He listened and his eyes just went huge. And he started singing and that's when I was in tears because that was when I realized he is an entertainer. Through music and performing, he was able to withstand living in this world. Because when you are autistic, it is hard to do what everybody else does. It actually saved his life playing music," Tina said.

Kodi earned a standing ovation from the AGT judges and the golden buzzer from Gabrielle Union. He will then go straight to the semi finals.

"Your voice is absolutely fantastic. You really have a beautiful tone and thank you so much for trusting us on this show. I'm going to remember this moment for the rest of my life," Simon Cowell said.

"I'm a new judge this season and I'm also a new mom this year and it's the toughest job I ever had but the most rewarding job I ever had. You just want to give your kids the moon and the stars and rainbows and tonight I'm gonna give you something special," Gabrielle said as she pressed the golden buzzer.
