What was Joshua Garcia’s reaction to the Julia Barretto-Gerald Anderson onscreen pairing?

Julia Barretto is set to star in an upcoming Black Sheep movie titled Between Maybes alongside Gerald Anderson.

The movie tells the story of Hazel (Julia Barretto) who is an actress experiencing troubles in her career and in managing her personal life. Feeling lost and wanting to escape, she books a random flight and eventually ends up in the secluded prefecture of Saga, Japan where she meets Louie (Gerald Anderson).

When asked what was Joshua Garcia's reaction when he learned that she would be paired with Gerald, Julia replied, "To be very honest, natuwa siya na it was Gerald. Natuwa siya kasi it was with somebody a couple of years older than me, rather na kasing age ko, mas natuwa siya sa fact na 'yun."

The actress said that she told Joshua about it when it was already finalized that Gerald would be the lead actor. "It took me some time to tell him because I wanted to make sure that once I tell Josh dapat sure na, na 'yung actor na yun ang gagawa," she said.

Julia remarked that she is thankful for having a love team with Joshua but both of them understand that they also need to do individual projects to grow in their craft even more. "Being in a love team, it can really do a lot of things for you; it can take you to so many places where maraming kang matututunan, and you'll be thankful for that experience," she said.

She added, "But alam namin ni Josh na sooner or later, sa journey namin talaga, darating iyong time na magkakaroon kami ng kanya-kanyang projects and we respect that. Kasi pareho naming mahal iyong ginagawa namin. It's what best for us, iyong growth namin."
