As the star of Ngawa, one of the three short films that won in Star Magic’s first-ever digital video making contest, Myrtle Sarrosa admitted it was a challenge playing a woman who’s experience she could not relate to.
“My role here is Sam and parang fresh graduates sila pareho ng character ni Luis and she got pregnant. And after she got pregnant, her boyfriend pushed her to get an abortion. And then there’s a lot of twists and turns na malalaman niya yung history ng person who she loves, na he’s not the person she thinks he is,” she shared during the Lights, Camera, Magic Celebrity Screening held last May 26 at the Dolphy Theater inside ABS-CBN.
In Ngawa, Myrtle was paired up with former Pinoy Big Brother housemate Luis Hontiveros, who plays her boyfriend in the digital short film.
“Kami ni Luis we worked on this almost two days and natutuwa naman kami. We built our chemistry on set and we had to do prior research on our characters. So magkasama kaming nag-uusap tapos parang diniscuss namin kung paano ba yung interactions ng characters namin. Yung pinaka na-enjoy ko is the drama, the thrill, kasi yung character ko ang dami palang nangyari sa kanya. So it’s a very heavy role. Ang layo ng experience na ito for me. Hindi siya yung normal na roles na pini-play ko,” she revealed.
Aside from being part of this year’s Light’s Camera, Magic, Myrtle was also proud to share her upcoming film sa Regal Films.
“Kasama ko dun sila Tony Labrusca, Jane Oineza, Albie Casino, and Jerome Ponce and its titled Ang Henerasyong Sumuko sa Love. Yung character ko kasi hindi siya naniniwala sa love. So parang medyo cold na siya. She has a wall when it comes to love so tingnan niyo kung magkakatuluyan sila nung character ni Albie in the story,” she said.
The sexy actress-singer also said she is gearing up for a series of performances abroad. “Naku as of recently, marami kaming work and nag-re-rehearse kasi ako for my Canada tour so it’s mostly mga dance rehearsals. Yun yung exercise ko lang recently,” she added.
