Charlene Gonzales successfully finished the London Marathon this year and in an Instagram post, the former TV host shared her experience as a participant in one of the most popular running events in the world.

"London Marathon 2019 was one of the most meaningful marathons I have ran. The scenery, route, cheering & crowd support was invigorating. But what really touched my heart was knowing that all the runners out on the race was running for a worthy cause. As runners would pass you by, you would read their worthy causes across their shirts (for example: running for the children’s hospital, running to fight cancer, running to fight poverty, running to fight Alzheimers & much much more. etc) Everyone had a worthy cause," she posted.

London Marathon 2019 was one of the most meaningful marathons I have ran...♥️ The scenery, route, cheering & crowd support was invigorating. But what really touched my heart was knowing that all the runners out on the race was running for a worthy cause. As runners would pass you by, you would read their worthy causes across their shirts (for example: running for the children’s hospital, running to fight cancer, running to fight poverty, running to fight Alzheimers & much much more. etc) Everyone had a worthy cause ♥️ It brought tears to my eyes, as I saw people taking each step to collectively help our brothers and sisters all over the world through their different charities. There were some runners who, experienced cramping but yet they gave it their all just to finish & other runners helping one another & picking up & carrying the other runners in pain, just to cross the finish line. It was such a unifying effort of compassion & love ♥️ This year, the London Marathon broke the record in fund raising and knowing how much it will be of help to others brings tears of happiness to my eyes. 😍 Thank you #teamVSO Voluntary Service Overseas (who helps fight poverty), Calum for giving me the opportunity to be of help to our brothers and sisters & again to all that has donated (you know who you are.. I endlessly thank you for your kindness & generosity) It was such an amazing feeling to run for you & our brothers & sisters worldwide... Each step & each kilometer I ran was for you.. 😍♥️😍 #TeamVSO #Teamph #londonmarathon2019
