Sue Ramirez stars in an upcoming movie shot entirely in South Korea titled Sunshine Family. Apart from working with celebrity couple Nonie and Shamaine Buencamino and child star Marco Masa, the actress was also able to work with K-Pop idol Shinwoo of the boy band Blanc 7 for the project.
In an interview at the press conference of the movie, Sue shared her experience working with Shinwoo for the first time. According to the actress, despite the language barrier, working with the K-Pop idol went smoothly. "In-expect ko talaga na mahihirapan ako kasi una sa lahat language barrier. Malaking factor kasi 'yun with 'yung workplace, kung papaano kayo mag-communicate with each other. Siyempre iba 'yung culture , iba 'yung way of living talaga kompara sa Pilipinas at sa mga Koreano. Pero sobrang naging smooth lang," she said.
She added that Shinwoo was really nice. "Ang bait bait ni Shinwoo tapos ang cute kasi nagpapaturo rin siya sa amin mag-Tagalog at anu-anong kalokohan ang tinuturo namin sa kanya so it was a very fun experience and we got to sing together. Meron po kaming nirecord na kanta in Korea na magiging parte ng pelikula so it was a great experience," she relayed.
Sue shared that she learned a lot about the Korean entertainment industry while shooting the movie. "Pinakabagong experience ko or knowledge na natutunan ko is working with Koreans talaga. Kung papaano sila sa set na sobrang tahimik nila magtrabaho, na [kapag] work, work talaga, on time sila palagi," she said.
The actress was also asked about the meaning behind the movie title Sunshine Family. Sue explained, "Sumalamin siya sa bawat pamilyang Pilipino na kahit na anong lalim o kahit anong hirap na pinagdadaanan, hinding-hindi mo makikita sa bakas ng mukha natin kahit saang bansa mo dalhin, Filipinos are known to be happy people. Laging nakangiti, very hospitable na kahit walang makain ipapakain pa rin sa bisita 'yung pagkain so iyon 'yung representation of a Filipino family that was represented beautifully in this movie."
