Does Pia Wurtzbach think a back-to-back Miss Universe win possible for the country?
Pia Wurtzbach commended the recent national costume photoshoot of the Bb. Pilipinas 2019 candidates which became a trending topic online. In an interview with MJ Felipe for Bandila, the former Miss Universe title holder remarked that the said photos could possibly reach the international media.
"I remember we didn't get to have a national costume photoshoot during my year. You know these photos online, they go a long way. Nakakarating 'yan sa ibang bansa, nakakarating 'yan sa press ng iba't ibang bansa," she stated.
When asked if she thought it would be possible for the Philippines to have a back-to-back win at the upcoming Miss Universe pageant, Pia replied, "If Venezuela did it a few years back, I think we can do it also. Kasi wala namang rule diyan. I've been a judge before and they don't ever tell us na, 'By the way winner was from South Africa so make sure...,’ walang ganon."
Pia and Catriona Gray will work hand in hand this year for the first ever benefit gala of Miss Universe Philippines in the country. This is part of the plan to make the Miss Universe brand become more visible in the country.
"The Philippines wants to see more about the candidates. We are taking them to Boracay and to Vigan," Richelle Singson-Michael, Co-chairperson of Miss Universe Philippines said.
