Unknown to many, Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray struggles with scoliosis. According to mayoclinic.org, scoliosis is "a sideways curvature of the spine that occurs most often during the growth spurt just before puberty."

Catriona struggled with her iconic slow-mo twirl during her training days because of the condition according to one of her mentors Nicole Cordoves.

During a brief Q&A activity she had on Instagram Stories with her followers, Catriona replied to a netizen asking how she maintains a good posture despite her condition.

Catriona shared that she does numerous exercises. "Lots of symmetrical, combination exercises for example squats, rows etc. And posture based exercises like Pilates," she said.

Aside from discussing about her posture, Catriona also answered a netizen asking for her advice for all the young beauty queen aspirants.

Catriona said, "My advice would be to learn as much from the experience that you possibly can because only one girl can walk away with that title so you want an experience that you've learned and grown so no matter what happens, you are a winner regardless."
