Kathryn Bernardo expressed her sympathies for Liza Soberano after the latter backed out from the Darna project due to her finger injury. In an interview with MJ Felipe, Kathryn remarked that she was saddened upon learning the news.
"Nalungkot ako kasi alam ko yung preparations niya, yung workout yung diet niya. Sana makahanap ng right doctor for the finger kasi hindi yun joke. Sa fight scenes pa lang, napakahirap nun," she said.
Kathryn still hopes that Liza would be able to play the role in the future. "Maybe hindi ngayon pero hindi ibig sabihin nun hindi na niya pwedeng gawin someday. Kung hindi si Liza ang gagawa, as a fan of Ate Angel (Locsin) I would love to see her in the Darna costume again," she stated.
Meanwhile, Kathryn is already gearing up for a new project alongside Alden Richards. "Nakuha ko na yung final script and sobrang challenging niya (her character) kasi hindi lang siya basta-basta," she shared.

The actress will be staying in Hong Kong for 1 month for filming. Though she will be missing Daniel Padilla, her boyfriend assured her that he will come visit her in HK. "Ngayon pa lang nagkaka-sepanx na kami (ni Daniel). Pero sabi niya bibisitahin niya ako dun. He's very supportive," Kathryn stated.
