The ‘World of Dance Philippines’ host shares her own struggles after several attempts at winning the crown.
With the upcoming Binibining Pilipinas pageant happening again this June, Pia Wurtzbach said she hopes all the candidates will never lose hope in reaching their dream of becoming a beauty queen.
"Just keep fighting on. Especially if you have a dream. I always think na kung meron kang vision, you’re already halfway to making it come true. Because there’s nothing worse than not having a dream. If you have a dream, andoon ka na, so just keep working at it," she told PUSH.
Pia also revealed that mental and emotional strength is also important especially when one has to compete multiple times, just like her, in order to bring home a crown.
"Guys hindi ko rin akalain na mangyayari sa akin ito. Like if you go back a few years ago, natatalo ako sa Binibini tapos wala akong pera, nahirapan ako. Pero lumalaban ako. Hindi ko alam kung panong gagawin ko.
"I kept fighting on and then I won Miss Universe and then this happened to me and it goes to show that you really don’t know where life can take you. So my advice to everyone is just keep looking forward and keep going forward. Don’t get distracted so much by things around you. Focus on your dream. Dapat laser focus," she shared.
Pia, who currently hosts travel show Pia's Postcards, also gave advise to beauty pageant 'repeaters.'
"For the repeaters, kaya niyo yan.Ginawa ko rin yun before so huwag kayong mahiya, huwag kayong mawalan ng lakas ng loob,” she said.
