Arci Munoz, who owns a Peruvian-infused gastropub with her boyfriend and two other friends, shared how she started her business.
From singing to acting to cosplaying, one can definitely say that Arci Munoz could do it all. But apart from being one of the most artistically-inclined artists in the country, Arci Munoz is also an entrepreneur by heart as she now manages a restaurant with her boyfriend Anthony Ng and two other friends.
During the blogcon for her movie Last Fool Show alongside JM de Guzman held at her gastropub in Quezon City called Ceviche, Munoz shared how the said food business came to be.
“Parang gastropub siya before. Before ko pa mameet ‘yung boyfriend ko. Tapos meron kaming Peruvian restaurant na kinakainan na nag-close. So parang nanghihinayang ‘yung boyfriend ko so sabi niya: ‘Babe, bilhin na lang natin tapos parang i-fusion na lang natin siya dun sa existing gastropub na.’ So dati mga beer chow lang kami pero wala kami nung mga menu for lunch, dinner. So nung binili niya ‘yung Peruvian restaurant na ‘yun, na sa’min na lahat nung sa menu. Lahat ng food options na kinakainan namin before. So ‘yun inopen na namin,” she said.
“Pero ‘yung gusto lang talaga namin meron kaming something we can call our hangout. ‘Pag kunwari gusto namin magkita-kita ng friends namin, dito kami. Chill lang kami. At least, alam mo ‘yun feeling namin at home lang kami,” she added.
According to Arci, her boyfriend, who has other businesses, let her and their two other friends to manage the restaurant - which opened last July 2018 - on their own.
“Pero siya marami siyang [businesses]. Ito pinapaubaya niya na sa’min. Tsaka ‘yung dalawang friends namin, sila talaga ‘yung nagmamanage nito,” she stated.
Talking about expanding their business, Arci said she is yet to decide whether or not she would push through with it as the first Ceviche restaurant holds a special place in her heart. “Hindi ko alam eh. Siguro ito muna. Ito kasi special eh. Talagang place namin ‘to. So siguro in the future, meron naman.
Asked if she has plans to pursue other business ventures, she answered: “Pwede. Oo. Gusto ko. Marami na din kasing makeup eh. Ito muna kasi mahilig ako sa food eh. Mahilig ako mag-luto. Dami na nga lang din kasi [makeup businesses]. Kaya ako na din muna sumabay sa ganun. Gusto ko lagi akong iba,” she said.
Meanwhile, Last Fool Show is still showing in cinemas nationwide.
