After admitting that she and Romnick Sarmenta, her husband of 19 years, were officially separating last year, Kiss short film director Harlene Bautista said she still has lots of inspiration in life, in the form of her five children. “Lagi naman may ginagawa. Mabuti yung laging may ginagawa kaysa nganga (laughs). Of course inspiration ko yung mga anak ko. Sila naman talaga yung reason kung bakit gusto kong may mangyari sa akin dahil para sa kanila naman yun. At the end of the day, para sa kanila yun,” she shared during the Sinag Maynila 2019 press launch held last March 7.
When asked to react to rumors circulating that she is now dating a still unnamed That’s Entertainment member, Harlene laughed it off at first but did not deny anything. “Marami diyan. Hindi ko alam (laughs). So far okay naman. Siguro (kaya ganun) dahil baka yun yung pinakamadaling isipin? Kasi siyempre may mga naka-love team ako dati di ba? So I think yun lang yun. Unless maisip nila na nagbalikan kami ni direk Rico Gutierrez puwede rin, why not? O sino pa ba? Ako na magsasabi! (laughs),” she said jokingly.
The new short film director also explained that there are many possibilities as to who can be linked to her. “Meron pa, hindi niyo lang alam (laughs). Siyempre yung mga hindi ko naka-love team talaga pero off cam naging kami. O yung ganun. Ibig kong sabihin, puwedeng ganun. Kaya siguro naisip na ganun. Kasi may mga naging dati naman,” she added.
With news that her husband Romnick Sarmenta is now dating a non-showbiz personality, Harlene showed no ill feelings towards her former partner in life. “Good. Good for him. (Yung annulment) okay na. Okay na siya. Umaandar naman siya,” she explained. Harlene also shared that their kids are slowly learning to accept their new family situation.
