WWF celebrity ambassador Iza Calzado says she and husband Ben Wintle try to live an environment-friendly lifestyle.
After launching this year’s Earth Hour event, WWF (World Wildlife Fund) ambassador Iza Calzado said she is having a busy year doing various events for her advocacies as well as acting projects. “I’m part of She Talks so on March 16 we have a summit that’s very, very near since it’s Women’s Month and I’m doing a Cinemalaya film that tackles a lot of women’s issues. Ang ganda. Na-in love ako sa script. We’re starting around March 19. The director is a first-time director actually. Her name is She Andes and she’s a woman so it’s nice to have that female gaze. It’s quite important. We also have a film dropping on iFlix this month called Mystified,” she said.
Taking her duties as an WWF ambassador very seriously, Iza shared her top three simple conservation tips to live a more plastic-free lifestyle. “First, bring your own tumbler. Lagi akong may tumbler. I like having water all the time so pag nanunuod ako ng sine, pag lumalabas ako, pag pumupunta ako sa mall or sa gym, may sarili akong tumbler. Two, pag nasa grocery or sa market, kung makakahindi ka sa paggamit ng plastic, hindian mo. Kung ikaw naman ay nakagamit ng plastic, hindi mo nahindian, just reuse it at home. Until hindi na siya puwede and then dispose of it properly and lastly, repeat clothes. Hindi siya plastic-related pero environment related. Huwag kang mahiya na mag-repeat ng clothes so you also buy less clothes because actually it takes so much natural resources just to produce clothes. So I’m trying my best to limit even that, my consumption of clothes which is hard but I’m trying. I will Marie Kondo that closet,” she explained.
