“It’s confirmed. The cancer has come back,” said the former Games Uplate Live host in a new health update via Instagram this Friday.
Former model and Games Uplate Live host Jaymee Joaquin confirmed that she’s battling with breast cancer again this year via a social media post this Friday.
“I’ve been mustering the courage and finding the right words to say what I’m gonna say but I guess there’s no easy way to go about this so here goes... It’s confirmed. The cancer has come back,” she said.
“I don’t want to disclose specific info right now but one thing’s for sure... the recurrence was detected super early and medical team are still doing more tests to make sure all bases are covered,” she added.
According to Jaymee, who’s now based in San Diego, California, her recent diagnosis is highly treatable and fairly manageable as compared to her previous cancer in 2016. “No pity party please. For now, all I ask is your continuous virtual support, healing prayers, well wishes and hopeful outlook as I embark on this uncertain yet awakening journey. I’ve also decided to lie low on social media for now because I choose to cope with everything in an organic way by truly living and appreciating life as it unfolds right before my very eyes and surround myself physically with people who love and care for me,” she said, citing that she will return once the time to “inspire, uplift, empower” anew is right.
“This is gonna be an epic battle. And with God’s grace, my medical team, my loved ones and your support, I’m a WIN the second time around [sic]. Let’s keep the faith and hope for the best,” she added.
It was in 2016 when Jaymee was first diagnosed with early stage breast cancer, for which she sought treatment in UCSD Moores Cancer Center until 2017.
After surviving her ordeal, the former Kapamilya star took a new social media name ‘Jaymee Wins’ as her way of raising awareness regarding breast cancer to the public.
