EXCLUSIVE: Angie Mead King on her first runway experience: ‘I was super nervous’

While her wife Joey Mead King has had extensive experience as a runway model, it was the first time for Angie Mead King who made her runway debut during the SM Woman Summer Collection fashion show last March 20. “It was my first time to walk. I was super nervous but as soon as I got out, I just walked and smiled and said hi to everyone and hoping I didn’t trip which I didn’t (laughs). I was super happy to do it. Joey has taught me so many things,” she told PUSH.

Her wife Joey admitted she had to help Angie mentally prepare to do it. She also shared how they have always gotten along as a couple. “She was so nervous but we got there and she just enjoyed it. What we share together is that we’re very communicative. We talk about everything, which is a very important thing. We do understand how important dialogue is and we’re both very charitable and we’re both have a lot of empathy,” Joey shared.

When asked how they define each other’s personal style, Angie said she turns to her wife for inspiration. “My personal style on a daily basis is actually comfort but Joey is my personal stylist,” she said. Joey likes to mix it up when it comes to dressing. “My personal style is definitely a mixture of street chic, bohemian or just whatever I want that day. No boundaries but I guess events like these encourage her to play. I told her it could be a wonderful experience for her because it would be her first time,” Joey added.

The couple said they keep themselves fit with a lot of workouts and eating a lot of vegetables. But after her runway experience, Angie said she doesn’t isn’t sure if she is going to do more. “I don’t know. I’m turning 40 this year so I don’t know if I’m starting my modeling career at 40,” she admitted.
