They may have had a tumultuous relationship throughout the years, but Kris Aquino remains grateful to her former husband James Yap as the father of her child, 11-year-old son Bimby Aquino.

This is what the Queen of All Media said in her latest vlog entry titled Unboxing of Crystals last Monday, during which she happened to discuss her previous marriage to the basketball player.

“Bago kami naghiwalay ng tatay ni Bimb, kasi ‘di ba when you’re trying to save your marriage kung anu anong paniniwalaan mo. So [I had a] bracelet na it had those two doves or whatever you call those birds na pagsasamahin mo. Sumabog! Sabi ko, ‘Oh my God!’ Napaganun ako, and ‘yun ‘yung time na magfa-file na ng annulment. And I knew, sabi ko, ‘Wala na talaga ‘to. This is it’,” she said, referring to the nullification of their marriage back in 2010.

“Pero at least ‘di ba, it produced Bimb, [so] thanks,” she added.

With Bimby about to turn a year older this April, Kris said that she has now come to a point wherein she feels emotionally ready to finally make peace with her past.

“Because magbi-birthday si Bimb, magiging 12 na nga siya, I’m letting go of all the negativity that surrounded everything that went wrong because the greatest gift talaga was that I have Bimb. So for that, thank you and God bless you and have a good life ahead of you,” she said.

“Had it not been for you of course walang Bimb. So thank you for Bimb and God bless you and God bless your family,” she added.

Kris had been with James for two years when she gave birth to their only son in April of 2007. They separated three years later and the former sought an annulment of their marriage at the Makati Regional Trial Court in August.

She has another son, Josh Aquino, from a previous relationship with actor and politician Philip Salvador.
