Seasoned host-comedian Joey de Leon took a trip down memory lane and recalled the days when he was just starting out.
In the ‘60s, Joey joined the entertainment industry as a disc jockey for several radio stations including DWOW radio. Aside from being a DJ, he also became a host.

“Look what I found while cleaning!” he wrote.
He also shared a letter dated 1969 that said his status as a temporary announcer changed to permanent and that he got a P10 salary increase; he was earning P200 per month back then.
“Pagtyagaan nyong basahin nang malaman niyo kung paano ako nagsimula sa daigdig na ginagalawan at kinatutuwaan sa ngayon!” he wrote.
In a past interview on the now-defunct TV show Kris TV, Joey shared that he was proud to say that he started his career in the Kapamilya compound.
"Dito sa ABS-CBN proud ako sabihin I worked here in 1968. Ang sweldo namin gusto mong marinig? Ang suweldo namin noon, na si Jake Lopez pa ang boss ko, inabot ko pa ang lolo ni Gabby Lopez III. Ang sweldo ay P200 a month (that time ay malaki na 'yon) noong ginawa kaming permanent matindi naging P210, totoo 'yan nasa akin pa ang papel," he said.
