The General’s Daughter star admits she has always been an Amor Powers fan.
Known as a supportive friend on and off camera, Angel Locsin did not disappoint her The General’s Daughter co-star when she showed up to an exclusive TBA Studios special screening of Eula Valdez’s film NeoManila, which is currently shown in theaters nationwide.
“Sabi ko naman sa kanya kahit anong mangyari andito ako. I’m super excited kasi ang Corazon namin sa The General’s Daughter pinapakita pa namin that she’s very ladlylike, soft, yung mahinhin, ganyan. Pero dito grabe ay nag-mo-motor, bumabaril. So exciting makita ang isang Eula Valdez na ganun. Sa kanya pala nagmana si Rhian talaga, yun talaga yun (laughs),” she shared.
Angel admitted she always enjoys supporting her co-stars in any way she can.
"I’m here naman din dahil Ms. Eula is a good friend. Ang dami namin kasing similarities. She’s the kind na nag-ko-collect ng mga swords at ng mga shuriken. May ganun siya sa bahay. Ako naman knives so may mga similarities kami talaga. Pag nag-uusap kami bigla na lang kami magtitinginan tapos matatawa kasi parehong iniisip namin,” she said.
Before the screening, Angel could not contain her excitement at seeing the action-thriller film directed by Mikhail Red.
“I’m very excited. I grew up watching Amor Powers. I’m a fan and now I’m still a fan. I can’t believe na now may opportunity ako na makasama siya at makita siya kung paano siya sa set, kung paano siya offcam,” she added.
Even though her co-stars Eula and Janice de Belen joke that they seem to have exchanged roles as good and bad guys in the series, Angel said she is honored to be sharing the same set with the veteran actresses.
“Si Eula hindi naman siya evil at hindi rin naman evil si ate Janice (de Belen). Sabi ko nga, ‘Na-e-enjoy niyo ata yung mga character niyo.’ Kasi si ate Janice never ata siya naging bad bilang nanay siya ni Budoy, na sobrang kind lang, sobrang bait.Tapos ngayon mahadera. Ang galing nila talaga. It’s really an honor na makatrabaho mo yung ganung klaseng tao."
