Tears flowed on the last night of his wake as friends and family members each paid their tributes to late comedian Chokoleit.
Friends and family members each paid their tributes to late comedian Chokoleit, born as Jonathan Garcia, on the last night of his wake last Thursday, March 15.
Among them were his colleagues in showbiz and fellow comedians Vice Ganda, Pokwang, Pooh, and K Brosas, who sang a heartfelt rendition of Gary Valenciano’s ‘A Warrior is A Child’ in his honor.
His fellow Star Magic artist, singer Klarisse de Guzman, also paid homage with a soulful performance of Adele’s ‘Make You Feel My Love’.
“We have to pay tribute to you, because you’ve been a friend — a very, very good friend — and a teacher for a lot of us,” said Anton Diva, known impersonator and one of Chokoleit’s closest friends, during her speech. “Thank you for sharing your talent, your laughter, and, of course, your love. Maraming maraming salamat, Chokoleit, Jonathan Aguilar Garcia. You are so much loved by so many people.”
Chokoleit passed away last Saturday, March 9, following his performance for an out-of-town show in Abra. His cause of death were declared by attending physician Dr. Rosauro Seares as pulmonary edema and heart attack. He was 46.
