Park Bom released her new single on the same day her agency released a statement about her alleged involvement in drug operations.
After three years since 2NE1's disbandment, Park Bom returned to the music scene with Sandara Park helping her out with her comeback single “Spring”.
On March 13, Park Bom released her new single through the official YouTube channel of South Korean music licensing group Super Sound Bugs. Park Bom’s song release coincided on the same day her agency, D-NATION Entertainment, released a statement pertaining to her alleged involvement in drug operations.
South Korean entertainment new portal Soompi published the statement, dismissing the rumors that she is using drugs for recreational purposes. Likewise, the statement reiterated that she’s using them as part of her medication.
“She is still being mentioned as a drug smuggler. We would like to correct this part as Park Bom clearly did not do drugs,” wrote D-NATION Entertainment in the statement.
The news comes after news outlets reported back in 2014 that Park Bom smuggled amphetamine pills—a medicine prescribed to her back when she was still in the US—to South Korea. Then again, she said she had no idea that South Korea prohibited the said drugs.
According to a Korea Herald report, Park Bom had been freed from the indictment.
