While Arjo Atayde wants to work with Maine Mendoza on a project soon, he believes it will only happen when the time is right.
Ever since admitting he and Maine Mendoza are exclusively dating, Arjo Atayde has been more and more open about his feelings for the latter—proudly letting everyone know she means the world to him.
“Masaya po ako,” Arjo said of the turn of events in his relationship with Maine Mendoza during the presscon for the upcoming iWant original action series Bagman which drops its first six episodes on March 20 and its last three episodes on March 27.
With so many things to be thankful for in his life right now, Arjo Atayde has no time to entertain bashers at this point.
“I’m very, very happy. I think that’s what matters now. The career—ABS [CBN] is taking care of me, my personal life is good right now. I’m really happy. Kuntento po ako,” he said.
Reiterating the status of their relationship, Arjo said: “We’re exclusively dating. Dun pa lang po kami.”
While he and Mendoza have been given the liberty to be more open about their relationship on social media, Atayde said he would still prefer to keep some things between them in private.
“Having the freedom of posting doesn’t make us post even more kasi for us, you know, I don’t think basehan ‘yun ng relationship—ang pag-post ng pag-post. We want it private as much as we can. ‘Di ko naman sinasabing private tayo. But of course, ang sa amin, what you see is what you get naman,” the 28-year-old Kapamilya actor stated.
Asked if he would want to work on a project with Maine Mendoza, he answered: “Yeah. Of course, I would love to work with her. Pero now, huwag po muna. Tsaka na po when the time is right. But of course, I’m looking forward to working with her. Definitely.”
With Arjo willing to fight for Maine Mendoza no matter what happens, he could only think of how happy he is as his inspiration to go against the odds for her.
“As I said last time, she’s worth fighting for so dedma na lang siguro. Ang happy niya eh. Tulad ng sinabi ko kanina, kontento na po ako. I’m just really happy. And I see her happy. And I think that’s all that matters to me,” he said.
Having already met Maine Mendoza’s parents, Arjo Atayde said he felt scared at first but knew within himself that he had to do it because that’s what he wanted.
“Well, of course, I think every guy would be scared to meet the family but nakakatakot po eh kasi bilang babae po ang anak nila. Nakakatakot but I faced it. I have to and I want to,” he said.
Bagman' will begin streaming on March 27, 9PM on iWant.ph.
