Following some bashing on social media, Leila Alcasid clarified that she never meant to offend Elisse Joson or anyone about the Maalaala Mo Kaya episode last Saturday, March 9, Hottie Loves Chubby.
"Naiintindihan ko naman ang mga concerns nila, na baka they thought na I was bashing Elise or whatever, but that was not my intention talaga. I've explained it naman na," Leila told PUSH at the Kuya Wes celebrity screening yesterday, March 12.
According to Leila, she understood why Elisse's supporters attacked her online so she was not angry at all. "I don't blame them, kasi ano lang, they love their idol, and they just want to be protective of her.
"But sana next time, they try to understand muna where I'm coming from, before jumping to conclusions or worry that I mean any harm, when I never do naman," Leila added.
Leila first explained her side with a long post she tweeted on the day that the MMK episode was aired.
Hi :) Just a comment on my previous tweet for anyone who was offended :) pic.twitter.com/WfPTv3uvZX— Leila (@leilaalcasid) March 9, 2019
The 21-year-old singer and songwriter also said that she and Elisse already talked about the issue and said that there is no feud between them. "Actually I also talked to her (Elisse) mismo about the issue, and alam naman niyang I wasn't meaning anything bad and she said to me na, she knows that I meant no harm, so okay kami." she said
Meanwhile, Leila is going full support for her dad Ogie Alcasid as his new movie, Kuya Wes, hits the cinemas today, March 13.
"I'm so proud of my dad. Kasi I've never seen him in a role like ganito. Before kasi he's always doing comedy, ganun. So it's nice to see something a little more close to the heart.
"And he really worked hard sa movie na ito. He really put in everything. And he's very passionate about it," she said.
Leila is now busy on finishing her new album under Star Music. With no release date yet, Leila will keep her fans updated on her social media accounts.
