Even if all the carefully chosen songs in this musical are a throwback to ‘70s and ‘80s OPM, you don’t need to be a member of Generation X to enjoy watching DOM: Dirty Old Musical which is currently enjoying its second run this month at the Music Museum in Greenhills. The cast is made up of solid performers with Robert Seña and Nonie Buencamino topping the list along with Carlo Orosa, Jett Pangan, and Bo Cerrudo who play members of a one-hit wonder boy band who part ways early in their career and then decide to reunite three decades later for an important cause.

The men relive their glory days through song and it is eventually revealed that some wounds from the past have not yet fully healed. The female members of the cast, Ima Castro and Kitkat, make their presence felt with equally powerful voices and just the right amount of comedic timing to temper the sometimes tense scenes. DOM features classic OPM songs like composer Ryan Cayabyab's "Nais Ko" and "Kay Ganda ng Ating Musika"; Hajji Alejandro’s “Nakapagtataka,” Yoyoy Villame's "Mag-exercise Tayo Tuwing Umaga"; Mike Hanopol's "Legs" and "Mr. Kenkoy"; and George Canseco's immortal classic "Kastilyong Buhangin"; all reimagined and re-arranged by musical director Myke Salomon.

Catch DOM: Dirty Old Musical’s shows on March 15, 16, 22, and 23, 2019 at the Music Museum at 3 PM and 8 PM. For ticket inquiries and reservations, call Ticketworld at 891-999 or Music Museum at 721-6726.
