Actor-turned-artist John Lloyd Cruz has debuted a new artwork exhibit titled ‘Void’ in a group exhibition launched Thursday night at the West Gallery in Quezon City.
Going by the name Idan Cruz, the 35-year-old star joined Filipino contemporary artists Kaloy Sanchez, Kawayan de Guia, and Tatong Torres in the said event, themselves having launched their own exhibits ‘Behind Closed Doors’, ‘Original Situation’ and ‘002SNTP-HLMOFU’, respectively.
The exhibition is set to run until March 30, according to West Gallery.
Prior to ‘Void’, John Lloyd debuted his collection of photographs and a video installation for the group exhibit ‘Ingress/Egress’ held at the Underground Gallery in Makati in 2017. Alongside his work were those of the 17 other award-winning featured artists, including Kaloy and Kawayan.
In 2018, he also took part in Vic Delotavo’s exhibit, ‘Reinterpreting Vic Delotavo’s Posters for Philippine Cinema’ with his work ‘F-k Morals, Give Me Your Money’, which was unveiled at the Jorge B. Vargas Museum in the University of the Philippines Diliman in June.
