Enchong Dee stars in the film “Elise” alongside Janine Gutierrez.
Enchong Dee shared a photo of him with his Elise co-star Janine Gutierrez and wrote, “Kakapit ako at maniniwala ako sa Pelikulang gawa ng Pilipino at sa mga may ari ng sinehan kaakibat namin kayo sa pagpapatibay sa mga Pelikulang Pilipino” with the hashtags “#SaveElise” and “#BringBackEliseinCinemas.”
The movie has been pulled out in select cinemas and has not even been shown in other locations.
His post received support from his followers but others also shared the reason why they choose not to spend money on local films.
Enchong replied.
It is not only Enchong who has made an appeal to save local movies. Multi-awarded director Erik Matti also aired his sentiments on the issue on his Facebook page saying the government should help local filmmakers.
