Weeks after he disappeared all of the sudden from social media, Wil Dasovich posted an update on his YouTube channel on Sunday, February 3 (PH time). In his new vlog, the YouTuber explained as to why he opted to take the time off from the online world.
Wil pointed out that he has been confronting fear that somehow made him withdraw from socializing. “I've come to realize that fear affects me in a way of shutting me down. It makes me recluse. It's like I don't want to have contact with anyone or anything. Ayoko makipag-usap. I don't want to talk to anyone. I don't want to talk to the vlog,” he said.
The YouTuber is now back home in San Francisco, California, awaiting for the results of his new scans, one year since the completion of his treatments from colon cancer. While his medical results are yet to be delivered, Wil said that he decided to take a hiatus from social media and focus on himself.

“Being back at home as given me time and solitude alone, which is something that I haven't experienced for a very long time and I think it's healthy. If there's anything that I learned from this or a piece of advice I could give is to take a break from social media. In particular in a few days or maybe in a week. if you can just see how it makes you feel. It’s kind of revolutionary not knowing what everyone else is doing and it can help you concentrate on yourself and with your goals and in what it is you need to do to improve and whatever it is that you want to get better at and to focus on in that matter,” he stated.
He concluded his video by saying that he uploaded the video mainly to inform his followers that he disappeared for a while because he was scared. But he stressed that he would never let fear overcome his life.
“It is just me being honest and expressing the notion that I am scared, that's the only reason that I have troubled about this and anything that I mentioned previously, and it's simply because confronting fear is never an easy thing. No matter how difficult it might get sometimes or no matter how frightening it all is, I never let fear take control of my life. And until you recognize how much fear holds you back, only then can you maximize your potential and reach that point in life in which you want to get to,” he stated.
He added, "Being scared is natural and it’s okay. Nevertheless I’m sure the scans are gonna be alright and in a few weeks, it's just gonna be a reminder of you know, what's important in life.”
