EXCLUSIVE: Solenn Heussaff and Nico Bolzico share their secrets to keeping romance alive

Even after eight years of being together, Solenn Heussaff and Nico Bolzico manage to still act like a newly dating couple. The secret to this is according to Nico is constant effort.

“I guess after the honeymoon stage in a couple, it’s very important that both make an effort to keep being romantic, to prank people, have fun, take time together and don’t get caught up at work 100% and forget about anything else about the world. Take the time to be with your better half and surprise her. Keep the romanticism going. We’ve been together eight years and sometimes we do dates, we do dinners, we surprise each other,” he shared during the Toblerone Philippines event held last January 30 in Makati City.

Even though they’re not the type of couple who like to give each other gifts, Solenn said it is not what is most important to them.

“One thing you need is trust. Two, space so you miss each other. So when you see each other it’s more sweet and romantic. We see each other because we sleep in the same bed. And then just the effort like on Sunday he really comes with me to have lunch with my parents. We try to have a few trips a year together. We never give each other gifts though,” she admitted.

Currently excited to start preparing for third solo art exhibit at the last quarter of the year, Solenn revealed she is excited to do more movie projects this year as well. Nico said he will be spending more time out of town expanding his agri business which is expanding nationwide this year.

Both animal lovers, the Bolzico home is also home to two turtles Patato and Pechuga, a cat named Gato, and their dog Pochola. But there is still space for a new addition to the family according to the couple.

“We’ll see. No more furry babies. There’s no more space. Because we have no garden so Pochola is enough. She’s a map on her own. There’s space for the baby upstairs (laughs) but it hasn’t happened yet. But we’re ready,” Solenn shared.
