Mickey Perz called his wife a ‘supermom’ for raising their daughter without a yaya or nanny.
Last Sunday, January 24, former Pinoy Big Brother (PBB) housemates Gee-Ann Abrahan and Mickey Perz welcomed their daughter Raphaelle into the Christian world by having her baptized at a small ceremony with some of their closest relatives and friends in attendance.
Explaining why it took them almost eight months before getting their daughter baptized, Abrahan said: “One reasons was his mom is in Switzerland so we waited for her so she can be here at the baptism. The other one is pinopostpone kasi my Lola died. The day before the funeral dapat ‘yung baptism.”
Having chosen former housemates turned best friends Bea Saw and Dionne Monsanto as two of their daughter’s godparents, Mickey and Gee-Ann explained why they chose them among all the housemates from the second season of Pinoy Big Brother to which they both belonged to.
“I think from all the batches in PBB, ‘yung batch namin ‘yung pinaka-close. ‘Yung tight. Well, not all of us. Most of us. We remain very close. And we make an effort to stay close. We’re still very much involved in each other’s lives,” Gee-Ann Abrahan said.
“So basically those are the ones she’s very close. During those years, we were surprised we were getting tighter with them. And then, parang we almost go to each other’s events. So we became friends. We see them more as friends than housemates actually,” Mickey Perz added.
With the couple being first-time parents, they shared some of the challenges they faced in the past couple of months wherein they had to let go of their baby’s nanny and raise her on their own following a series of stealing incidents.
“We don’t have a yaya,” Gee-Ann said. “I think that’s one of the challenges that we have that’s why right now she’s a supermom ‘cause we don’t have a kasambahay. I mean we had one but I think it’s really hard to find one that you can trust, right? So unfortunately the one that we had was a bad apple. So we had to let go of her so she’s like the supermom who does everything,” Mickey added, praising his wife.
According to Gee-Ann Abrahan, she and her husband are more cautious in picking their next nanny.
“She was a thief. She was stealing a lot. That’s probably why we are also more picky now. For months now and months then kasi sandali lang ‘yun eh, very briefly in between, earlier we didn’t have also and then we had one. But for months now, we didn’t have and it’s really hard. Just this week, this whole week he was inside the Big Brother house - practically living in the Big Brother house. And I was alone,” Abrahan explained.
