The senator released a statement following the criticisms that the broadcaster received after the interview.
Senator Manny Pacquiao took to social media to defend Karen Davila from bashers. The broadcaster received criticisms after she interviewed Pacquiao on ANC's Headstart, wherein she asked him if college education should be required for senators.
In his Facebook post, Manny remarked that he was not offended during the interview. "This is in line with my recent interview with Ms. Karen Davila on Headstart which has been circulating online. That was my fourth time to be invited and have a sit down interview with Ms. Karen Davila. For the record, I was never offended by her manner of questioning. Isa po siyang batikan sa larangan ng Broadcasting at trabaho po niya na magbigay ng mabibigat na tanong sa taong kanyang ini-interview," Manny posted.
The senator added that he recognizes the importance of continuous learning especially that he is a public servant. "Kung may formal training sa boxing, may formal training din sa education. I continue learning not only in academics but also in life. I never quit and I never stop challenging myself. With God’s wisdom, I am pursuing formal education because it is important to gain deeper knowledge and better understanding on what is happening around us."
He urged the people to stop harboring hatred. "Pakiusap ko lang po: LET US STOP THE HATE. Magtrabaho lang po tayo para sa kapakanan ng ating bayan. Sa lahat ng pagsubok, tandaan po natin: God is good all the time!," he said.
