Fresh from yesterday’s parade, Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray has made her grand homecoming at the ABS-CBN headquarters early this Friday, February 22.

A stunning lady in white, the 25-year-old was greeted with a band plus a flock of spectators who were awaiting her arrival since the morning.

Talking to ABS-CBN reporter Dyan Castillejo, Catriona said that the warm welcome she has received from Filipinos since her homecoming parade in Manila has been an “amazing experience”.

“Inspired ako sa mga tao, when you see them all come out to show their support kahit sobrang init. It just makes my heart feel full, and I feel like I want to be high energy for them, because they deserve it!,” she said.

“Tears were in my eyes at certain points talaga especially when I would just see how happy the people were, and to think that I could bring that kind of joy to my countrymen, sobrang emotional ako,” she added.

The Filipino-Australian beauty said that her utmost gratitude goes especially to her team who has made her homecoming an “eventful” one for her Pinoy fans.

“I’m so, so thankful to ABS-CBN and Binibining Pilipinas, Charity Incorporated, and of course, Araneta Center for making my homecoming such an amazing, eventful, [and] masayang celebration with my whole countrymen,” she said.

Of how she plans to spend the rest of her reign as Miss Universe titleholder, Catriona promised to make it “as purposeful of a reign that I can, and continue to give back to the community.”

The Filipina-Australian beauty also made an appearance on ‘It’s Showtime’ this Friday, where she was welcomed with a performance of ‘Filipina Girl’ by Billy Crawford, James Reid, and Marcus Davis, Jr.

Later, she will celebrate with her fans and a few Filipino celebrities in ‘The Raise Your Flag’ celebration event on Sunday, February 24, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Catriona arrived in the Philippines on Friday evening, February 15, following a month of staying in New York as part of her duties as Miss Universe 2018.
