A 29-year-old Filipino nurse who lives in Dublin received a standing ovation from the Ireland’s Got Talent judges after singing his rendition of Elvis Presley's “Can’t Help Falling In Love You.” Rodel Borja, who works in a nursing home in Dublin, decided to join the international competition to inspire individuals who stutter like him.

He said, “I applied in Ireland's Got Talent because I want to inspire other people especially all the stutterers around the world since I’m also a stutterer myself.”

Rodel shared that it is through singing that he is able to express himself better. “Growing up with stutter was quite difficult because I am not really that confident in expressing myself by talking. I expressed myself more and better by singing,” he said.

He added, “Actually until now I did not overcome it yet. I just came up with techniques to hide it and I still find it difficult to talk.”

Rodel relayed that he usually sings to his patients. “I do that almost everyday and they seem to like it,” he stated.
