Gina Lopez gets emotional as her advocacy show ‘GDiaries' is now in partnership with National Geographic Channel.
Along with the announcement of a new season of her advocacy-travel show GDiaries, host and environmentalist Gina Lopez revealed a new partnership with National Geographic Channel PH.
At the press conference last February 15, Lopez couldn’t help but be emotional about the success of the show. "It's not the money that really made the difference, it's the heart. It's when you really care.
"You can have all the money, but if you really care, you connect with people and the ideas that come will be good, and you create an environment of love, then you can bring much more than money can," she said, explaining the goal of her show.
In the two previous seasons of GDiaries, Lopez and her team, along with guest celebrities, went out to different provinces in the country to help the poor communities in terms of livelihood and agriculture. Just last year, the show won as Best Travel Show at the 32nd PMPC Star Awards and Most Development-Oriented Environment Program at the UP Gandingan Awards.
Signing the partnership agreement with Lopez was FOX International Channel Senior Vice President Jude Turcuato. Jude told the press that NatGeo will help to promote the advocacy show to the global audience.
According to Jude when he first met Gina last year 2018, he immediately thought of collaborating for an advocacy project. "When we met, I think we just needed to find a way to be able to work together, because (our) values and objectives were aligned," said Jude.
The new season of the show will continue to "I LOVE" charity (Investing in Loving Organizations or Village Economies) for the chosen eight marginalized communities.
Meanwhile, Gina expressed admiration of all her guest celebrities from Season 2 of GDiaries. According to her, one of her memorable guests was Maymay Entrata. "I thought Maymay was great, Maymay and Edward (Barber), they're so funny and that was the first time that I met her," Gina said.
GDiaries Season 2 has had Edward Barber, Maris Racal, Inigo Pascual, Loisa Andalio, Ronnie Alonte and more, as guest stars.
The new season will start airing on March 3 on ABS-CBN.
