Kris Aquino sits down with veteran entertainment reporter Ogie Diaz and writer Dindo Balares for a no-holds-barred interview.
Kris Aquino is celebrating her birthday in Japan with her sons Josh and Bimby right now.
But, she made sure to leave her fans a special birthday surprise as she unveiled her Unscripted With Kris: Birthday Conversations series on Facebook on February 14.
For the four-part series, Kris sat down with veteran entertainment reporter Ogie Diaz and writer Dindo Balares for a no-holds-barred interview.
“I felt that I wanted [my fans] to be able to share my birthday. But I had promised the boys na kung anong gagawin namin sa bakasyon naman would be edited after the vacation. Hindi siya happening at the moment,” she said. “So sinabi ko na compromise ito, para on February 14, mayroon silang mapapanood.”
The first episode, released at exactly 11 am, talked about her current status in life and at work following the rough patch that she had to go through in the previous months.
When asked by Ogie if some of her endorsers pulled out after it was revealed that she’s suffering from Chronic Spontaneous Urticaria, an autoimmune disease, Kris said that she’s awed by the huge amount of respect she has received for her honesty.
“Alam mo, doon ako mabibilib sa kanila. Kasi they respected the honesty. I think that when you have built long-term relationships and siguro, ang ano, more than having admitted the illnesses, alam mo naman kung ano ‘yung mga naging issue na binato sa akin, I never denied anything eh. I stood by my truth.
“I think na I’m not a perfect person but I have never portrayed myself as being perfect. Kung ako rin naman siguro, kung may produkto akong binebenta, gugustuhin ko ‘yung tao na what you see is what you get,” she said.
During the second episode, Kris discussed how she deals with toxicity daily, particularly having to handle “negative people” who are trying to meddle in her life.
“Bakit ko papatulan ‘yung mga kasinungalin na ako mismo, eh naging buhay ko ‘yun eh. I’ve lived it. So why do I have to explain my life to people who have already prejudged me? Why will I say a story na ‘yung sa kanila based on fiction, akin based on facts? Gano’n kasimple ‘yon,” she said.
On the subject of her highly publicized tiff with former business associate Nicko Falcis, Kris said that she now prefers to stay silent as she has “finally grown up”.
But that isn’t to say that the Queen of All Media is willing to forgive.
“Hindi na! Pasensya. Hindi na, dahil sobrang kawalang-hiyaan na ang pinagdaanan ko. Oo, at sa laki nang nagastos ko sa Fortun, Narvasa at sa Divina Law (her lawyers), utang na loob, hindi. Milyon milyon na ang nagastos ko sa puso ko.
“[And] there’s no remorse. And there’s nothing but hatred being thrown my way. There has been zero gratitude when I earned millions for him. Niloko na ako, dinaya na ako, pinapamukha pang akong pinakawalang-hiyang tao sa mundo,” she said.
