An unexpected new trailer of Disney’s Aladdin live-action remake has premiered on the 61st annual GRAMMY Awards on Sunday night (US Time).
The said teaser-trailer offered a first look at the award-winning actor Will Smith as the blue Genie, at once making waves on the Internet as fans aired their mixed reactions.
Aside from Will, Mena Massoud, who plays the titular character Aladdin, Naomi Scott as Jasmine, and Marwan Kenzari as Jafar were likewise featured in the promotional clip.
The first teaser for the reboot of the animated classic – with its original version launched in 1992 – debuted in October last year, having solely introduced Aladdin inside the Cave of the Wonders where Genie’s Lamp, and later Jafar’s Lamp, reside.
Directed by esteemed filmmaker Guy Ritchie, Aladdin is set to hit cinemas worldwide on May 24, 2019.
