Arjo Atayde, who plays the role of a mentally-challenged guy named Elijah “Elai” Sarmiento in the top-rating Kapamilya show The General’s Daughter, couldn’t help but feel moved by the critical acclaim he’s been getting from fans and critics alike.
Then again, Arjo isn’t one to let it get into his head, promising fans to do better with his character in order to give them a more compelling show.
“I’m trying my best to do better. And hopefully, mas ma-enjoy pa nila ‘yung show. We’re just trying to give them a good story. Gusto lang namin magkwento ng maayos,” he told PUSH during an exclusive interview at the Pure Magic 2019 event.
In the show, Arjo takes on the character of Maricel Soriano’s son who has autism - a role that needed him to do painstaking preparations and research.
Apart from The General’s Daughter and his new movie titled Tol, which he co-stars alongside Joross Gamboa, Ketchup Eusebio, and Jessy Mendiola, the 28-year-old Kapamilya actor also has two other upcoming movies titled Stranded under Regal Films and Bagman under ABS-CBN’s digital streaming platform iWant.
