Actor and Red Ribbon’s new ambassador Paulo Avelino talks about the success of his comeback teleserye The General’s Daughter: “Masayang masaya kami sa kinalabasan ng first week at naramdaman namin ‘yun dahil sa reaksyon at sa suporta na binigay niyo.
Actor Paulo Avelino is “very thankful” to avid Kapamilya viewers for the warm welcome to his comeback teleserye The General’s Daughter, which he stars opposite fellow ace Angel Locsin.
“Masayang masaya po kami sa kinalabasan ng first week at naramdaman po namin ‘yun dahil sa reaksyon at sa suporta na binigay niyo,” said the 30-year-old star during his launch as the newest face of Red Ribbon held in Ortigas on Thursday night.
“Nakita naman namin sa ratings sa social media, and wala talaga kaming mabibigay kung hindi husayan pa lalo itong serye at pagandahin pa lalo para sa inyo.”
Following the sensation that was his last film Goyo: Ang Batang Heneral, Paulo revealed that he might do a few more films this year, though no plan is definite yet.
Which among his fellow stars, then, would he wish to work with this year?
“Puro veteran, I’m really want to work with a lot of people that I used to watch on TV 'nung bata pa ako,” he said. “I haven’t worked with Nora Aunor, Lito Lapid… napakarami, to be honest.”
Right now, Paulo has his plate full with acting projects. This might be the case until the next few months, he shared, so he’d most probably spend Valentine’s Day at work.
“I’ll probably schedule something in the future but not anytime soon,” he said, referring to his Valentine's day plans for his girlfriend, Filipino-Australian model Jodie Tarasek. “Because medyo puno na [schedule], puro trabaho this February.”
On his relationship with Jodie, Paulo said that he’s happy that he gets to take things slow this time.
“Masaya ako kung nasaan ako ngayon,” he said. “Masaya ako na hindi ako nape-pressure sa maraming bagay and I’m happy that I get to take things slow. Masaya rin minsan ‘yung hindi ka napepressure ng trabaho o ng buhay mo sa labas ng showbiz.”
