Headless mannequins, toy robots, and statues coming to life--these were just some of the many surprising elements that were seen in the official trailer of the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) entry “M&M: The Mall, The Merrier”, released just weeks ahead of the highly anticipated filmfest.
In the extended trailer, Vice Ganda and Anne Curtis are introduced as rival sisters who are forced to set aside their feud over the ownership of a mall to take down their Aunt Moody, played by Dimples Romana, upon learning that she’s looking to unearth a magical book for her evil plans.
Directed by Barry Gonzales and produced by Star Cinema, the comedy-fantasy film marks the first big-screen team-up of “It’s Showtime” hosts Vice Ganda and Anne. Both had respective movies in last year's festival, with the former’s “Fantastica” and the latter’s “Aurora”.
Other entries to this year’s MMFF include “3POL TROBOL: Huli Ka Balbon!”, “Mission Unstapabol: The Don Identity”, “Sunod", “Miracle in Cell No. 7”, “Mindanao”, “Write About Love”, and “Culion”.
The MMFF 2019 will run from December 25 to January 7, 2020.
