Inigo Pascual added another feather to his cap as he took part as one of the performers in the historic 30th SEA Games Opening Ceremony held last Saturday, November 30.
In an interview at the #StarMagicGivesBack2019 event where he visited a home for the aged alongside fellow Star Magic artists, the international star shared his experience performing in front of the thousands of crowd in attendance at the Philippine Arena.
“Grabe ‘yung rehearsal namin dun. As in buong araw kami nag-rerehearse. It was a good experience din. And ‘yung production siyempre is from America so nakaka-excite siyempre to have a different production to work with and it’s something na nakakatuwa gawin kasi you’re able to experience din something na hindi mo pa nagagawa. Siyempre at the Philippine Arena. It was my first time performing there as well. And the whole thing honestly was just a good experience as a whole. And to be part of the opening of SEA Games parang once in a lifetime lang masasabi,” he said.
According to Inigo, he became emotional upon seeing all the performers whom he witnessed tirelessly worked hard during rehearsals to put up a good show.
“Hindi natin alam kung kailan natin mauulit ‘yung SEA Games so dun pa lang, rehearsal pa lang, naiiyak na ako na nakikita ko ‘yung mga lanterns, ‘yung mga sumasayaw. Nakakaiyak ‘cause I couldn’t believe that I was actually there performing alongside the icons of this generation.”
With all the controversies the sports event has faced over the past couple of weeks, Inigo called for everyone to come together as one and support local athletes.
“I feel like to be honest it’s a once in a lifetime na masasabi natin na host natin ‘yung SEA Games. And matagal na ‘yung last. 14 years ago pa ‘yung last na hosting natin ng SEA Games. So just enjoy it no matter what’s going. I feel like the best thing we could do to help is to just be grateful and to support the athletes,” he said.
“Kasi siyempre kung wala tayo magagawa, wala talaga tayo magagawa. So ‘yung bagay na pwede nating matulong is to support the athletes, support the movement, and support the whole event,” he added.
“Kung ano man ‘yung hindi natin ma-control, eh let’s just pray for it. Let’s pray that things would fall into place. But siyempre ‘yung macocontrol natin ‘yung emosyon natin and ‘yung suporta natin sa mga athletes natin.”
Meanwhile, Inigo Pascual also performed his hit “Dahil Sa’Yo” for GRACES Home for the Elderly as part of Star Magic’s annual giving back event.
