YouTuber Danica Ontengco excited to be part of her first movie project ‘Kaibigan’

Before getting discovered two years ago, 19-year-old Danica Ontengco was an active YouTuber who enjoyed making vlogs. "I started in YouTube when I was 16. I do beauty tutorials and travel videos. Now I'm managed by tito Ogie Diaz so he got me into showbiz in 2016-2017 mga ganun. He discovered me from YouTube. I'd like to play a good role naman kasi parang lahat ng napupunta sa akin bad girl (laughs). Before din naman I used to extra roles sa movies, like sa Seven Sundays but it's not really a big role," she told <a href='https://push.abs-cbn.com/'>PUSH</a>.The first year college student who is currently taking up Enterpreneurship said she is happy to be part of the cast of first Perkins twins-produced film Kaibigan where she plays the girlfriend of one of the lead stars Christian Perkins. "It's my first movie. it was great naman. It was fun. It was great. No pressure naman. I'm a mean girl sa <a href='https://entertainment.abs-cbn.com/tv/shows/kadenangginto/main'>Kadenang Ginto</a>. It's pretty easy. Sa mga napapanuod ko rin parang nakikita ko (yung mean girl) so nagagaya ko kung paano yun and parang kung ano lang lumabas (laughs)," she said.Being managed by the same person who discovered Liza Soberano, it's not hard to guess who among her peers Danica admires in terms of acting. "I like watching sila Liza, and Kathryn (Bernardo), yung mga love teams. But my celebrity crush is James Reid. Kasi matagal na akong nanunuod ng movies nila ni Nadine Lustre. So favorite ko din sila panuorin dalawa. Naging crush ko siya sa Wattpad na movie," she said.Kaibigan is a Perkinspiredflix Production starring Jesse and Christian Perkins, Cesar Montano, Stephen Baldwin, Tirso Cruz, Boots Anson-Roa, Lani Mercado, Jean Garcia, Alvin Anson, Emmanuelle Vera, Anjo Damiles, and Janina Vela. It opens in cinemas on December 4.
