Over the past couple of months, rumors about five-piece Filipino group BoybandPH allegedly getting disbanded have been making rounds online.
On the sidelines of the story conference for the upcoming iWant original movie He’s Into Her, Joao Constancia addressed the speculations on the issue.
Apparently, BoybandPH is going on a hiatus for each of them to focus on their solo careers.
“Wala naman. Those rumors, they’re not true. For now, we’re just I guess given the opportunity by the management to go solo muna. And explore ourselves which career paths we would take,” he said.
Asked if fans can expect new music from him, Joao Constancia revealed that he will be focusing on his acting career in the coming months.
“Music career? To be honest, right now I want to focus more on my acting career because this is where I want to go. This is where I see myself in the future. So dito muna ako mag-fo-focus,” he said.
Meanwhile, Joao, who became part of the now-defunct Kapamilya teleserye Ngayon at Kailanman, shared his excitement as he takes on a new acting role via He’s Into Her.
“I am super super excited and blessed. It’s been a while since my last acting project. And I’m actually excited and re-pumped to start working on this,” he said.
While he did not go into specific details, Joao shared that he will be part of an upcoming movie.
“Other than He’s Into Her, I’m also doing another movie with a couple of big stars. It’s a small role but I’m starting somewhere with my first ever movie,” he said.
Composed of Niel Murillo, Russell Reyes, Ford Valencia, Tristan Ramirez, and Joao Constancia, BoybandPH was created out of Pinoy Boyband Superstar, a Filipino reality singing competition which aired on ABS-CBN back in 2016.
It was based on the Latin-American show created by Simon Cowell called La Banda. The judges of the show included Aga Muhlach, Yeng Constantino, Sandara Park, and Vice Ganda.
