After finishing work on her last teleserye this year, Mika Dela Cruz said she wants to focus on vlogging this year instead of acting full time on television. “I’m focusing more on digital this year so wala muna masyadong teleserye. I’m going to work on my YouTube channel. I’m trying to be consistent sa postings and nag-aaral ako ngayon mag-host sa events so yun. Actually I wanted to try it ever since and I got tired siguro sa mga soap so now that’s what I’m going to focus on,” she told PUSH.
The 20-year-old Goin’ Bulilit alumna said she actually started her own YouTube channel before celebrity vlogging became popular but has never had the time to focus on it. “Actually nung 2016 pa but I didn’t post. Isang video lang tapos hindi ko na siya natuloy so ngayon lang na nahanap ko kung ano talaga yung in a way niche ko sa vlogging. Ngayon pa lang din ako nag-sa-start ulit. Kumbaga I’m picking up from where I started sa first video ko sa channel. Nag-work naman,” she said.
Mica said she is enjoying making personal vlogs showing more of her personality at home. “Mas close to real life kasi ang vlogging eh. Mas gusto ko yung personal interaction sa mga tao, gusto ko yung nakakapag-inspire. Hindi yung more of acting. Ever since naman acting na yung ginagawa ko so pahinga lang. In a way, I just want to explore sa ibang bagay. It’s a year of learning for me. I’m trying to post more regularly. Mahirap kasi mag-edit kapag ikaw lahat. And I’m also working siyempre sa ibang mga stuff and I’m also studying right now,” she shared.
Currently finishing the 12th grade, Mica said she is looking forward to learning about business management in college. “Mag-ka-college na ako. I got delayed kasi sa school. I’m thinking of taking up a business course. It’s something na I really want to learn more about kasi it’s a very broad subject so I want to learn more about it,” she explained.
