Actress Ynna Asistio was rushed to the hospital on Sunday night after suffering from “severe abdominal pain” for hours, her sister Alyssa confirmed in an Instagram Stories update on Monday.
Sharing a photo of the 28-year-old star at the hospital, Alyssa said: “Nag-hospital hopping po kami kagabi kasi halos lahat ng ospital sa Marikina and Antipolo punong puno, walang kama, walang available. Pero thank God at around 4:30am nakakuha kami room at napa-blood test, urinalysis namin siya, clear po lahat... At around 5am na-CT scan na siya.”
According to Alyssa, Ynna's CT scan results ruled out appendicitis. However, she was diagnosed with volvulus, a rare condition characterized by the abnormal twisting of a part of the large or small intestine.
“It might lead to an open surgery. Please, please pray for her,” she added.
On Tuesday, however, Alyssa shared the good news that her sister would not be needing a surgery.
Ynna, for her part, took to Instagram on Wednesday to announce that she's already recovering but still under observation. She also thanked those who sent prayers and well-wishes along her way.
Ynna and Alyssa are the daughters of seasoned actress Nadia Montenegro and late Caloocan mayor, Macario “Boy” Asistio, Jr.
Ynna was last seen in the long-running primetime series Ang Probinsyano as Vanessa.
