Raymond Gutierrez fulfills dream of organizing a Halloween Ball

After staging the first ever Opulence: Let Them Eat Cake Halloween ball last October 31, events producer Raymond Gutierrez is happy to see the successful turnout of celebrities, models, and loved ones at the party. “For me Halloween is the one night that you get to live out a fantasy, live in a fantasy world, and escape the troubles of real life. So for me, Opulence is all about excess, all about being over the top, and all about having fun and living your best life. So that’s what we’re celebrating. There’s so many problems in the world right now going on, tonight is the one night that you can forget about it and have fun with your friends,” he shared.

Along with his business partner Ashleigh Rye, Mond said he got inspired to create the ball after attending similar parties abroad. “Ash is an events specialist. We’ve been working together producing events for the past eight years. Kung di alam ng marami sa public, I actually produce events behind the scenes. So this project was one of our babies na we’ve been wanting to do a Halloween party for the past three years. Hindi siya matuloy tuloy because every time, either I’m traveling or something always happens. So this year we made a commitment that this is the year we’re going to make it happen. Halloween is always a fun time to be with friends so we just want to offer something different here in Manila,” he explained.

Opulence was also supported by Mond’s closest friends and family members which included Solenn Heussaff, Nico Bolzico, Gerogina Wilson, Isabelle Daza, Richard Gutierrez, Sarah Lahbati, and Annabelle Rama. “So tonight is also my mom’s birthday so she’s going to be here tonight. But usually we just celebrate with family. Sometimes we go to Cebu to be with the Rama family. And sometimes we just stay here in Manila. But for this year we’re all here in Manila. My whole family is here supporting me and for this weekend we’re just going to spend it at home,” he said.

During the event, Mond arrived looking chiseled in a modern armor look. “This is actually handmade by my friend Jerome Lorico so he did this by hand for two weeks. It’s like an armor but I still wanted to make it kind of like fashion,” he said.
