As she stars in her latest horror film The Heiress which opens this month, Janella Salvador said she is happy to have already moved on from controversies including the issue with her ex-love team partner Elmo Magalona. “It was like a rough patch. More on challenge siya sa personal life. May pinagdaanan talaga ako. It was a certain stage of my life na kinailangan ko din pagdaanan para ngayon mas alam ko na kung anong gagawin ko pag andun ako sa situation na yun. I know how to handle life better and actually, alam ko may mga darating pang challenges kasi ganun naman talaga, minsan nasa taas minsan nasa baba. So if there’s one thing I learned, it’s that I have to be prepared din talaga kung may problemang dadating. If it’s the same thing then I know how to handle it na,” she shared during The Heiress The Grand Reveal event last November 14.
Being part of the local showbiz, Janella said that there is always a possibility of running into Elmo even though they are not talking to each other anymore. “Wala, you have to realize that it’s a small industry so magkikita at magkikita talaga kayo if ever. So it’s happened many times actually to me. Pag nangyari yun, wala, just deadma lang,” she explained.
As the only daughter of performing artists Juan Miguel Salvador and Janine Desiderio, Janella said she does not want to choose which of them she really inherited the talent from. “Both kasi I feel like they’ve both established themselves in their own ways. Yung dad ko very different rocker siya eh tapos yung mom ko naman theater talaga siya so I’d like to think na nakakuha ako ng bits and pieces of both of them. Halo-halo eh. It’s true pala what they say na kahit hindi ka lumaki with someone, kung tatay mo or nanay mo man, kung hindi ka lumaki with them, may mga makukuha at makukuha ka pa ring traits from them. Kasi nung nakilala ko at naging ka-close ko yung dad ko, ang dami pala naming similariities. Minsan bigla na lang natutulala (laughs). Ganun yung dad ko eh. Nakuha ko sa kanya yung iba,” she said.
