Actress-singer Gabbi Garcia talks about the value of sharing kind words.
After spending Halloween in Tokyo, Japan together with Khalil Ramos, Gabbi Garcia admitted she learns something new about her boyfriend after every trip. “It changed (our relationship) a lot actually. I’ve been telling my friends that if you really travel with your loved one, you’re going to really discover a lot of things about them. Khalil talaga he proved to me that he really is a guy with substance and he’s really witty. Super street smart and it’s not just all about his mind but he’s also fun to be with,” she shared during the Mentos Complimentos campaign launch held last November 9 in Taguig city.
Since they started dating last year, Gabbi said that her relationship is going strong and she enjoys getting compliments from her significant other. And for her, the biggest one she has received from Khalil is a very meaningful statement. “‘You balance me,’ yun yung sabi niya. Because Khalil has a tendency to be a workaholic. He has a tendency to really focus on one thing and he told me that I showed him how to balance things. That he could also spend time with his loved ones, he could also relax and enjoy life, and at the same time,” she told PUSH.
As one of the celebrities tapped by Mentos to launch their new Complimentos campaign, Gabbi said she understands the value of a kind word. “It was my first time doing this social experiment. Kasi we Filipinos we’re not so used to receiving and giving compliments. We just don’t know the value of compliments. It can make someone’s day. It can actually make you happier. We don’t know ano pinagdadaanan ng isang tao and if we compliment them maybe positively it could change someone’s day. It’s time to spread positivity to everybody. Imagine a world where you give compliments and it’s a normal way. Parang ang saya di ba, it’s peaceful, it’s just so light, and everybody’s pulling each other up. Imagine a world like that,” she explained.
After giving out compliments to different people, Gabbi said her biggest takeaway is about being selfless. “Giving a compliment without actually expecting something in return, just freely giving positive comments, spreading love and peace and light without expecting something in return,” she added.
