Lovi Poe talks about getting intimate onscreen with good friend and leading man Joem Bascon.
Even though that she has worked with actor Joem Bascon several times in the past, Lovi Poe admitted their sexy scenes in The Annulment were still a big acting challenge for her. “Kinabahan ako. First time ko siya napanuod. Siyempre nag-dub kami but not the whole movie. It’s a great feeling na finally yung pinaghirapan namin ni Joem at saka ni direk Mac (Alejandre) naipalabas na. Ilang beses na kaming magkatrabaho ni Joem kaya alam na namin kung ano yung mga binibigay namin bilang actors,” she shared during The Annulment premiere night held last November 11 in SM Megamall.
The sexy actress said she and Joem did not plan how they would execute the scene in bed. “Maraming shots kasi pero masaya naman kami na we got to explore somehow when it comes to acting kasi si direk Mac iba yung gusto niya. As you can see, talagang kahit kami nagulat kami na nagawa namin. Sa mga scenes namin (in bed) he wanted it awkward. Gusto niya real. Kasi you know how love scenes can be cinematic and well choreographed? He wants it talaga to be awkward and raw, yung talagang yung moviements talagang hindi mo plinano, yung lahat ng bagay, kahit yung pagkagat ko sa kanya or pagpalo ko sa kanya. So ayaw niya maging cinematic. He wants it real. Kasi ang nangyayari talaga raw is pag yung mag-asawa nag-aaway, they end up doing it. Parang they’re making love while angry. So parang ganung klase,” she explained.
After shooting the film which revolves around a married couple that go through the annulment process, Lovi shared her takeaway from the project. “As much as possible kung kaya ipaglaban yung relationship ipaglalaban ko eh. But of course there are some things that are irreversible. Hindi mo naman gusto pilitin ang isang bagay na hindi na naman nag-wo-work. I learned that we never lose that love for someone, it’s just that we don’t make them part of our future. So malungkot man isipin but sometimes ganun talaga yung nangyayari. All we have to do is be happy and love our ex-partners from afar,” she said.
Lovi said she was rooting for their characters to have their own happily ever after. “‘Yun naman talaga yung gusto natin mangyari in real life but that’s not reality. Kumbaga if we put expectation versus reality it’s completely different. So parang in real life, as much as possible, we don’t want people getting annulled or separating. Because we enter relationships not wanting it to end. But this time, the reality is, people drift apart and people grow separately. So malungkot man isipin, ganun talaga nangyayari,” she said.
