Cindy Miranda and Rhen Escaño want viewers to know that there is more to this movie than its sexy theme.
Viva Films is set to heat up November with the erotic thriller titled Adan. Written by Yam Laranas and directed by Roman Perez Jr., it pairs Binibining Pilipinas-Tourism 2013 Cindy Miranda with actress Rhen Escaño.
Talking to members of the media at the sidelines of the movie’s press conference, Rhen said that there is more to this film than its daring theme. “Pinaghirapan po namin lahat at sana makita po nila na hindi naman din po basta-basta lang ‘yung pelikula. May gusto po kaming iparating na mensahe sa lahat ng taong nagmamahalan, lalong lalo na po sa mga taga-LGBT community.”
Considering the sexiness of the movie, Cindy was asked if the Binibining Pilipinas Charities Inc. knows of this project of hers to which she laughingly replied, “Malalaman pa lang.”
Aware that that the group has rules and regulations for their binibinis, Cindy went on, “This movie, I don’t think meron naman akong rule na binreak. Pero sana, maintindihan nila, sana magustuhan nila kung anong ginawa ko sa movie.”
“Kakaiba itong movie namin. Hindi ito sexy movie lang. May sexy pero this is a psychological thriller. So this is not about, you know, showing your body… Sobrang lalim ng movie na ‘to. Gusto ko ‘yun ang maintindihan ng tao na this is not a bold movie,” she added.
Regarding the tag that this will be the “boldest movie of the year,” Cindy reiterated her statement, saying, “Baka naman boldest, not the naked thing, right? Boldest like you know, kasi sobrang tapang ng movie. Not just the sexy scenes pero actually lahat, kung may patayan man dito, may iyakan man dito, lahat bold talaga. So ‘yun ‘yung kailangan nilang abangan.”
Rhen seconded her sentiment, saying, “At sobrang ganda po kasi ng materyal. Hindi namin pwedeng hindi gawin kaya binigay po talaga namin ‘yung 101% namin para sa pelikulang ito.”
Adan opens on November 20 in cinemas nationwide.
